Statistics supports the notion that our next generation of young people (Generation Y) will lack the necessary skills to be effective leaders. According to Richard Williams in his book entitled: The Coming of Age he quotes "this generation will not surpass the success of the current generation". This absence of leadership, critical thinking and communication skills can result in a generation ill prepared to effectively function within a complex, global society.
While this may be a future possibility if not addressed, L.E.A.D. does not believe this has to become a reality. In response to these dire projections, L.E.A.D. seeks to create a vehicle for corrective change and an environment that affects change that must come from within each young adult. This desire to change can be cultivated through enlightened and informed members of this generation stepping up and assuming the role of change agent.
